Pat Roome, Master Gardener

Pat Roome is a 40-plus-year Master Gardener with a large garden in Bellevue in which she grows vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, shrubs, and trees. She has taught horticultural topics in the community to many groups over the years, and her classes are in high demand.  She specializes in consulting with homeowners and makes suggestions for changes and how they can be accomplished.

Pat has been a gardener all her life. She remembers being just three years old and transplanting seedling Snapdragons.

When Pat graduated from high school in England there was no option for women to study horticulture so she became a nurse.

She and her husband emigrated to Seattle and Pat was keen to pursue her love of plants. She started her landscape design work in the early 1970s and, shortly after, became a Master Gardener. Later she became a Certified Professional Horticulturist in Washington State. She was hired by several prestigious engineering companies as a Landscape Consultant. For many years she worked for CH2M HILL and provided designs and plans for the Seattle Water Department.

Pat's books, written during the pandemic, are now available on Amazon!
