Join us for a comprehensive, practical and insightful talk presented by ENN Board Advisor, Estate Planning attorney, and guide-dog puppy raiser Stephanie Ko.

Estate Planning is not only about inheritance.  It's about planning for unexpected life changes. It's how we address crucial and difficult questions with our family members and make sure our preferences are known and honored. It's about gaining peace of mind.

Stephanie will guide us to think about important questions such as these:

  • If you cannot manage your own financial affairs, who will manage them for you?
  • If you cannot make your own health care decisions, who will decide for you?
  • How will you/your estate manage various unexpected life scenarios?
  • How can you avoid unhappy family conflicts over your estate?

And much more.  Not to be missed!

Registration is required.

Our speaker, Stephanie Ko, has a BA in Chemistry, an MA degree in Environmental Administration, and a Juris Doctor degree from Seattle University School of Law. She practices business, immigration, and estate planning law in Bellevue, and speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese. In her work, she encounters many adults who may find themselves unable to live their dreams or even vulnerable because they are not well prepared for their own aging. Stephanie Ko, Bellevue Attorney

Of the virtual village starting in Bellevue, she says, "It's so needed! Everyone will grow old. I have clients who had a spouse and even children, but in the end they have no one. I talk with them about expanding their circle of friends and neighbors. Family far away cannot help; we have to help our neighbors." She views the virtual village model as an effective way to bring neighbors together to support older adults to remain active and independent in the homes and communities they know best.

Stepanie often works with nonprofits and has been active in Rotary for many years.  She serves as the Finance Chair of the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation.  She and her husband are volunteer puppy trainers for Guide Dogs for the Blind.  She enjoys helping friends find the right match during dog adoptions.
