- Time: 10-noon (not 9:30-noon as indicated in last Saturday's ENN email)
- Narrative: Come explore Newcastle Beach Park and the Eastrail. We will first explore the park including the nature trail. Then we will walk to the adjacent Eastrail. The Eastrail is a paved pedestrian/bike trail with gravel shoulders. It will eventually go from Renton to Kirkland and maybe beyond. This newly completed 4 mile section connects Newcastle Beach, Kennydale Beach, and Gene Coulon Beach parks (Gene Coulon Beach was an ENN walk earlier in the year).
- Newcastle Beach Park can be reached via the I-405 Lake Washington Blvd/Newcastle exit 9. If driving south on I-405 take exit 9 and turn right to Lake Washington Blvd SE. Turn right on Lake Washington Blvd SE and drive north until Lake Washington Blvd. becomes SE 50th St. which leads into the park. Turn right into the paved parking lot (if available park in the portion of the lot closest to Lake Washington). Most of the walk will be on paved trail except the nature walk which is bark with some wood plank bridges. There is a hill from the park to the Eastrail. The walkers can decide regarding lunch afterwards.
