Some are predicting human extinction. How probable is that? What are the ways it could happen? What would it mean to slow innovation? What would be the benefits and risks and to whom? Who would make the many decisions involved? What if "we" (in the US) agree to slow down but other nations do not?

Listen or read, and share what you're learning from your own investigation.
